From The Journal (Logan, UT) - Friday, January 18, 1918:
Willie Richard Stewart, the five year old son of W.H. and Mabel Richards Stewart died yesterday afternoon from the effects of a fall sustained last Monday. Little "Dick" as he was familiarly called, who was exceptionally bright, was doing his bit to help "Mama", as he termed it, by getting her some coal from the basement when he slipped and falling struck his head on the cement floor rendering him unconscious. He regained consciousness,, however, and was apparently out of danger when he took a sudden turn for the worse and passed away within a short time. The grief stricken parents and grandparents have a host of friends, who will be saddened by the unhappy occurrence.
Funeral services will be held in the Sixth Ward Chapel on Sunday at noon.
[The death certificate says he died of a skull fracture at the base into the nasal cavities.]
