Born August 26, 1926, in the Town of Rhine, Wallace was a son of the late Otto and Magdaline (Dirks) Kracht. From 1950 to 1952, he served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. On March 28, 1953, he was united in marriage to Beverly E. Diehl in Sheboygan. They were married for 43 years before Beverly preceded him in death on August 13, 1996.
Wallace worked for the Kohler Co. for 40 years, retiring on January 1, 1989. He was a member of Zion Covenant Church where he belonged to the Elderberries, was a consistry member and the Wednesday Morning Men's Club. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 9156. He enjoyed traveling and volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his brothers and sister, Lester (Betty) Kracht, Greenbush, Alvin (Loretta) Kracht, Newton, Florence (Norbert) Mallmann, Chilton, and Raymond Kracht, Plymouth; his sister-in-law, Nancy Kracht; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives. Besides his parents and wife Beverly, he was preceded in death by four brothers, LeRoy, Palmer (Florence), Orville, and Henry; a sister Evelyn (Eldor) Sass; and two sisters-in-law, Doris Dotz and Shirley Diehl.
Funeral services for Wallace will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, Superior Avenue. Rev. Dr. Steven J. Pedersen, will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday at Wildwood Cemetery with full Military Honors.
