Ruth Mullin Mabe, age 96, of 1924 Glenwood Park Road, Princeton, formerly of Route 3, Bluefield, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007. At her death, she was a resident of GlenWood Retirement Village but for most her life had lived on Lorton Lick Road in Bluefield. A member of the Duhring Church of Christ, she served as Sunday School teacher and worked with the young people in many capacities for years.

Born Dec. 10, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Chester B. and Kate Arrington Mullin. Mrs. Mabe was also preceded in death by her husband, Lomer F. Mabe; grandchildren, Jeffrey W. Fields and Jennifer Lynn Mabe; brother, Fred Mullin; sisters, Alma Lusk, Viola Foy and Amy Mullin.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Roy F. Mabe and wife Sally of Hendersonville, N.C., Donald K. Mabe of Gainesville, Fla., Norman C. Mabe and wife Janet of Princeton; three daughters, Joyce M. Compton of Hawthorne, Fla., Carol M. Wolfe, husband Roy, of Hawthorne, Fla., Cheryl B. Fields and husband Donnie of Roanoke, Va. She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, William C. Mullin and two sisters, Sadie Mabe and Vera Keyes both of Bluefield.

The family will receive friends on Thursday (today), Nov. 22 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home. A service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, Nov. 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Frank Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
