Marie T. Ludwig, age 102, of Chilton, passed away on September 24, 2021 at Century Ridge Assisted Living Chilton, WI with family by her side. She was the oldest of seven, born to George and Agatha (Meyer) Heimann on May 12, 1919 in the Town of Charlestown. She began dating her future husband, Arlin J. Ludwig, at a dance on Valentine's Day, 1938. On most dates, from that point on, they literally danced the night away. They married the following year on October 4, 1939 at St. Martin Catholic Church, Charlestown. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1976. She had farmed with her husband in the Town of Stockbridge near Kloten.

Marie was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Elizabeth Parish in Kloten. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, the Daughters of Isabelle, the Mission of St. Mary's Chilton, and the Catholic Knights Charlestown Branch #194. She was also a Calumet Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Member. For many years, one of her favorite pastimes was raising African Violets. In her 102 years, she's seen many things most of us have only read about. She remembered the Model T, horse drawn plows and sleighs, singing Christmas songs in German, and much more.

Survivors include 3 children: Donald A. (Dianne) Ludwig, Hortonville; Michael W. Ludwig, Town of Stockbridge; and Arleen M. (Gary) Schwartz, Oregon City, OR. She is further survived by: 16 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and their spouses; 36 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren; and sisters Julianna Weber, New Holstein, and Isabelle Schneider, Lake In The Hills, IL, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by: her sons Marvin F. and Norbert G. Ludwig; daughter in-laws Adrienne (Bastable) Ludwig, Karen (Morrison) Ludwig, and Karen (Sohn) Ludwig; granddaughter Amanda Ludwig and grandson John Schwartz; and great-great granddaughters Ivy Hieber and Harper Ludwig. Also preceding her in death were: her sister and spouse Leona (Ervin) Daun; brothers and spouses Sylvester (Virginia) Heimann, Albert (Mildred) Heimann, Wilfred (Gertrude) Heimann); brother in-laws Sylvester Weber and Richard Schneider; and brother in-law and spouse Albert (Esther) Ludwig.
