Roger Eugene Ellison, 76, of Rockport, IL passed away Saturday (9-25-21) at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Roger was born November 19, 1944 in Rockport, a son of Lee R. and Dora L. Blackledge Ellison. He married Linda Marie Laris on April 24, 1970 in White Hall and she survives.
Roger was a long time employee of Dyno Nobel in Louisiana, MO, retiring in 2004 after 35 years of service and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Roger enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Linda M. Ellison of Rockport, two children, Todd Ellison of Rockport and Tonya (Wally) Garner of Barry, two grandchildren, Emily Garner and Allison Ellison, a "granddog", Leo, two brothers, Donald Ellison of the IL Veteran's Home in Quincy and Ronald Ellison of Hull and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Kathleen, Carol and Velda and by a brother, Bill.
Cremation is being accorded. The family will meet with friends on Friday (10-1-21) from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill.
Memorials may be made to the IL Veteran's Home or to Samuel Taylor Cemetery in Rockport.
