Donald Warren "Whitey" Ellison, 76, of the IL Veteran's Home in Quincy, and formerly of Rockport, passed away Friday evening (1-6-23) at the IL Veteran's Home.

Donald was born September 22, 1946 in Pittsfield, a son of Lee R. and Dora L. Blackledge Ellison.

Donald was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1969 – 1971. In earlier years he had been employed by Bergman's in Pittsfield and Stark Bros. Nursery in Lousiana, MO. More recently he was employed by Jim Gay as a farmhand.

Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushrooming and enjoying a cold beverage with his nephews.

Survivors include a brother, Ronald Ellison of Hull, a sister-in-law, Linda Ellison of Rockport and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill and Roger, and by three sisters, Kathleen, Carol and Velda.

Cremation is being accorded. Burial will take place later this spring at Samuel Taylor Cemetery

near Rockport.
