Ann McQuagge, age 75, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at her home with loved ones by her side. Ann was born May 21, 1946 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to J.C. and Ernestine Brevelle LaCaze.
Ann met the love of her life Clarence H. "Buddy" McQuagge in Shreveport and they were married on June 3, 1967, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Buddy worked for the oil industry and his career carried them to Scotland where they lived for 15 years. She maintained their homes in Scotland and Shreveport. They both loved to travel and when his job took him to other locations, she would travel with him. They loved exploring new places, meeting people and enjoying great food. Although she never had children of her own, Ann loved being around them, showering them with affection and gifts. She enjoyed taking care of her home and loved her neighbors. Ann is fondly remembered as the "pie lady" because she would gift homemade pies at Christmas. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 49 years, Clarence H. "Buddy" McQuagge; niece, Toni Jacoby; in-laws, Clarence and Daisy McQuagge; grandparents, Jestine and Grace LaCaze.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Chesteen Jacoby and husband Richard; niece, Jackie Jacoby and her sons Sterling Liles, Sheldon Liles and wife Sabrina and their precious daughter Lily; niece, Becky Ainsworth and husband Danny; nephew, Shane Maxcy.
A visitation for Ann will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Centuries Memorial Park.
Honoring her as active pallbearers are Steven Faccone, William Faccone, John Faccone, Sterling Liles, Sheldon Liles and Shane Maxcy. Honorary pallbearers are Dwight Roberts, Carlton Murray, Clayton Coburn, Wayne Russell, Steve Futch, Butch McInnis, Ronnie LaCaze, Darrell LaCaze and Ricky LaCaze.
The family would like to thank Dr. West, Dr. Black, Dr. McDonald, Dr. McWright and their staffs for their care for Ann. A special thank you to Lifepath Hospice and their super kind staff for their excellent care, kindness and love after her transition back home.
