Levern Alford, 54, of Tampa, died Sunday, The Columbia County native was the son of the late Riley Randall and Georgia Hines - Alford. He had served in the U. S. Navy from 1944 to 1957 and was employed as a truck driver by Bardo Citrus Packing Co. of Winter Haven. He is survived by his daughter Laverne Alford of Jacksonville; a son Edward Alford of Taunton, Massachusetts; four sisters Leslie Wheeler, Callie Register, Zona Mae Heath and Delma Cobb; four brothers, Dan, Mack Dewey, George E. and A V and a grandson. Services will be conducted October 7, at Oak Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Otis Page officiating.
