Son of August Doede and Whilemena Fritz
Richard P. Doede, 81, a long-time resident of this area, died in the hospital here Saturday.
He was born in Germany Nov. 13, 1888, and as a small child he came to the U.S. with his family, first setting in Wisconsin.
In 1908 he came to Wenatchee where he worked two years.
He married Clara Baker in Scottsburg, Ind., in 1910 and they lived in Wenatchee and Okanogan valleys before moving to Manson in 1924. they had an orchard at Manson from 1924 until he retired in 1953 when they moved to Chelan.
Surviving are: his widow; his son, Paul, and his daughter, Mrs. John Curtis, all of Chelan; and 7 grandchildren.
