1911 Census: Living with parents and siblings at 142 Main Street in Banagher, Offaly. Occupation: General Labourer.
Joined the Connaught Rangers for the Great War in 1914 with his 8 brothers and 2 brother in laws. Amazingly all survived.
In 1923 his brother Martin passed away due to an accident on the railways. James went to England to help out Martin's wife, Mary. In 1926 James married Mary and they had a son Bernard in August 1926.
Researching: May have joined military for World War 2. (Not included with wife in the 1939 Register)
James passed away on the 22nd of October 1960 and was buried in the Family Grave at Weaste Cemetery on the 26th of October 1960.
