MAGNOLIA - Azuba Jane Batman, daughter of the late William F. & Catherine Goldman Williams, was born March 25, 1847, and died May 18, 1931, aged 84 years, 1 month and 24 days.
She married Andrew Jackson Batman on January 4, 1866, who died August 26, 1908. To this union six children were born William, Charles, John and Walter Batman, who have all preceded her in death, leaving only two daughters, Mrs. Anna Stephenson, of Magnolia, In., and Mrs. Pearl Ballard, of English Route 1.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Paris, of Milltown, In., Three brothers and three sisters have preceded her in death. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was born and married at Magnolia, In., where she spent her entire life until two weeks, which she spent with her daughter, Mrs. Stephenson.
She was converted and joined the United Brethren Church more than 40 years ago under the pastorate of Brother Giller.
Funeral services were conducted at the Dillman Church Wednesday, by Rev. Edd Apple, and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery nearby.
