CEDAR FALLS -- John D. "Oz" Osgood, 65, of 604 Fourth Ave., died on Monday, January 2, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of congestive heart failure.

He was born on June 13, 1929, in Dubuque, the son of John Dewey and Florris Wideman Lusthoff Osgood, Sr. He married Bonnie Hurd on September 28, 1943, in Oelwein.

Mr. Osgood was a construction machine operator for McCarter's Excavating, Arenholz Construction, and Assink Bros. Sand and Gravel, retiring in 1988. He served in Germany in the U.S. Army from 1954-1955.

Surviving are his wife; his mother of Waterloo; a son, Danny of Shell Rock; two daughers, Kelli Butler and Kristi Buikofer both of Cedar Falls; a brother, Harold of Waterloo; three sisters, Bernice Jones, Darlene Marquart, and Rozella Massina, all of Waterloo; a half-siter, Ardeth Rockwood of Waterloo; and seven grandchildren.

Services at Christ Lutheran Church, Waterloo. Burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
