Gravestone has wrong death year - inscribed 1916 when he actually died in 1915 per NCDC and Robesonian article.
The February 1, 1915 edition of The Robesonian included: Death of David A. Paul of Alfordsville - Mr. David A. Paul, 65 years old, died yesterday morning at 5 o'clock at his home in Alfordsville township. He was a good citizen. He had been in bad health for some time but had been confined to bed only two or three weeks. One daughter, Mrs. Jno. M. McCall of Elrod and two sons, Mr. Charles Paul, an employee of the Coast Line and Mr. Luke Paul, who lived with the deceased survive. The remains were interred yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at the family burying ground.
The February 4, 1915 edition of The Robesonian included the following: We are sorry to hear of the death of Mr. David Paul which occurred Sunday morning. The family have our sincere sympathy.
