The Thursday, March 18, 1915 edition of The Robesonian included: On Monday morning the sad news of the death of Miss Susie Paul was carried through the community and many hearts were touched by reason of the sad dispensation of Providence. It was only a short while back that her brother, Mr. David Paul, died and none expected her so soon to follow after. But such is life and such is death and no one knows when to look for the messenger that darkens the home and leaves sadness behind to be borne by loved ones until at last all are gone and "sorrow and sadness shall flee away".
