MRS. BARNES
VALLEY — Mrs. Ruth Dixon Barnes, 86, of Valley died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005 at Lanier Memorial Nursing Home in Valley.
Funeral services are scheduled Saturday, Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Steve York officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfax Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by her son, Gary Barnes of Clemson, S.C.; one granddaughter, Kelly McDavid of Clemson; one grandson, John Gregory Barnes of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth McDavid and Katherine McDavid.
Born June 7, 1919 in Fairfax, Mrs. Barnes was the daughter of the late John M. and Daisy S. Dixon. She was a former employee of Fairfax Mill. Mrs. York was a member of Fairfax First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Barnes.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Fairfax First Baptist Church in her memory.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 15 from 2 until 3 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home.
