Armena (Nina) was the daughter of George Barton and Mary Tebo. She was born in Malone, NY and lived in Auburn from 1937 to 1965. She had two children, Ralph G. Plant and a daughter, Shirley M Hill of New Brunswick who was buried in the same grave on November 5, 2008.

Some little things about her --First, Armena liked caring for children. And her claim to fame in the kitchen was her checkerboard cake, since she was a "tin can cook", in her own estimation. And for some curious reason, she kept a giant snowball in the freezer, but I don't remember why. Finally, from time to time, Nina would sing a song about the St. Lawrence River while she did her housework. Even after she went blind from diabetes, she would climb on a ladder to wash her walls. Then she would ask a neighbor in to tell her if she missed any spots.
