OBITUARY :
A. HARVEY PENTZ, 99, Waynesboro Rt. 1, died Saturday afternoon at his home. He had been in failing health for some time and critically ill for the past few weeks.

He was born at Tomstown, son of the late Daniel and Hettie Smith Pentz, and had lived most of his life in the Waynesboro Rt. 1 area. He had been employed for 30 years by the Frick Company and had served as foreman of a department for 30 years.

From 1911 until he retired in 1941, he farmed the property now owned by the Waynesboro Fish and Game Association.

For past 22 years he made his home with a daughter and son. His wife, Susan Gonder Pentz died 19 years ago.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Waynesboro and a honorary member of the Waynesboro Fish and Game Association.

He is survived by the following children, Mrs. Paxton Harbaugh, Chewsville; Daniel Pentz, Waynesboro Rt. 4; Mrs. Allen Hess, Ringgold, Md.; Samuel Pentz and Anna Pentz, at home; Mrs. Lloyd Snowberger, Waynesboro Rt. 1; also 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, sister, Mrs. Eliza Rosenberger, Waynesboro Rt. 1.

Private funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home in Waynesboro with the Rev. M. F. Valentine officiating. Burial will be in Price's Cemetery. The deceased had requested no viewing and that flowers be omitted.
