Clarence F. "Chubby" Doleysh, age 85, of, Two Rivers, died
Tuesday morning, December 2, 2008 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Clarence was born June 29, 1923, son of the late Wenzel & Mary (Swoboda)
Doleysh.
He graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1941.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII with a tour of Germany.
On October 11, 1947 he married Cecilia Vogel at St. Michael Catholic Church
in Whitelaw. She preceded him in death on June 1, 2004.
Chubby began his career at the Schmitt Lumber Company in Two Rivers. He
then continued employment at the Two Rivers Post Office followed by the
Kewaunee Post Office retiring in 1983 as Supervisor.
He was a member of the Doleysh Brothers Band, which played on WBAY
television on Sundays, as a trumpet player and a soloist. Chubby also played
with various local bands and was a conductor and member of his own band, the
Nightlighters. As well as playing with the Nightlighters, he was a 42 year member
of the Two Rivers Marine Band and was first chair trumpet. He was a past
President and member of the Two Rivers Community Hospital Board, was a
30 year member of the Manitowoc Musicians Association where he held the
office of Secretary/Treasurer for many years, and was in the Investment Club,
the February Club, and the Owls Club. Chubby enjoyed Monday morning
cards with the boys and spending time at his cottage on Clark Lake in Door
County for over 46 years.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wenzel and Wilfred; three sisters,
Helen, Leona, and Dorothy; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at St.
Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of
Christian Burial will be Rev. Carl Schmitt. Military rites will be accorded by the
Two Rivers V.F.W. and American Legion immediately following the service.
Entombment will be at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
