EARLY SETTLER OF VALLEY DIED SAT.

Wm. Gardner of Afton passed away at his home last Friday from heart trouble. Will was the son of Brigham L and Adell Gardner. He was born at Mill Creek, Utah September 4, 1878 and was almost 60 years of age.
The family came to Star Valley among the first settlers, or a little more than 50 years ago.
He married Sylvia Jacobson who passed away a number of years ago. They had no children.
He later married Stella Hepworth who survives him.
Funeral services were held Tues at 2 p.m. in the North Ward Chapel under the direction of John Linford.
Musical numbers were: Mixed Quartet "Beautiful Zion Built Above" sang by Milton Erickson, Mary Call, Hazel Call and E. Francis Winters: Violin Trio "The End of a Perfect Day" by Arch, Dean and Orrin Gardner: Solo "Out of the Dusk" by Ernest Turner: Solo by Arch Gardner "Lead Me All the Way" and a solo by Bonita Gardner, "Jesus Lover of my Soul"
The first speaker was O. P. Peterson of grover, who spoke of his honest dealings and of the fine neighbor he had always been.
George Hepworth of Grover spoke words of consolation for his wife and sisters. Spoke of Will's devotion to his wife and urged her to keep up her courage and asked her son to assume the responsibility of caring for his mother.
President Clarence Gardner spoke of his honest in all his dealings.
John Linford, close neighbor and friend for many years also expressed his appreciation to the family for having a neighbor with so fine traits of character.
The opening prayer was offered by John Anderson of Grover and A.E. Kennington of Afton pronounced the benediction.
Beautiful baskets and sprays of flowers banked the rostrum and stand.
Ozro Gardner dedicated the grave in the Afton cemetery.
