MRS PEARL HIDALGO DIES OF CANCER LIAVES THREE SMALL CHILDREN
A sad death occurred at Cokeville last week when Mrs Pearl Hidalgo departed this life at her home there. The direct cause of her death has been attributed to cancer. A little more than a month ago she was operated on at Soda Springs, but when the doctor saw her condition he held out little hope for her recovery. She rallied from the operation sufficiently to return to her home for a short time before the angel of death came and took her away. Her husband and mother were ever at her bedside and did all that was possible for mortal hands to do to ease her pain and prolong her life.
She leaves a loving husband and three children, a mother, and several brothers and sisters. She is the daughter of Mrs Della Gardner.
The body was sent into the valley by auto truck and arrived here about noon last Monday.
Funeral services were held in the North Ward chapel last Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. The opening prayer was offered by Thos. Walton. The first speaker was Albert Black, who spoke words of hope and consolation to the surviving relatives. Bishop O. Low then spoke very highly of the character and integrity of the departed sister. George Burton spoke words of praise for the departed and gave consoling remarks to the husband and relatives. The son "Oh My Father", was very beautifully rendered by Margaret Anderson and Nellie Roberts.
Benediction was pronounced by Thos. F. Burton.
Many floral offerings were in evidence on the casket and were placed on the grave. Interment was made in the Afton cemetery.
