TUCSON, Ariz./ST. ALBANS -- Mrs. Thelma Gerald Cornforth, age 91, died Tuesday, March 7, 2002, in St. Joseph Hospital, Tucson, Ariz., following a brief illness. She was born in Unity, Maine, April 6, 1910, daughter of the late William and Mamie (Murch) Gerald. On June 28, 1931, she married Howard Cornforth who predeceased her Feb. 1980.
She leaves two sons, Richard Cornforth and his wife Concetta of St. Albans, and David Cornforth and his wife Lucille of Pearce, Ariz.; a daughter Beatrice Cornforth of Maple Shade, N.J.; five grandchildren, Celeste Gagne and her husband Phillip of Bakersfield, Bradley Cornforth and his wife Lisa of Franklin, Debra, Cassandra and Eric Cornforth all of Arizona; five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Justin and Meghan Cornforth of Franklin, Phillip and Laela Gagne of Bakersfield; three sisters, Pearl Smith of Unity, Maine, Helen Alexander and Doris Hall both of Albion, Maine.
Besides her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by her infant son Malcomb and sisters Evelyn Webb and Mildred Crosby.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, at 1 p.m. at the East View Church of Christ in Tucson, Ariz. Interment will be in the Cornforth family lot in Unity, Maine in the summer.
