Herbert Clarence Eason, Jr. husband of Dorothy Saul Eason entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 25, 2007. Mr. Eason was born in Charleston a son of Herbert Charles Eason and Ray Kitchings Eason on Friday, September 13, 1918. He was a graduate of Charleston High School and the College of Charleston. Mr. Eason served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II and in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a retired Inventory Control Manger with the Geer Drug Company in Charleston. Mr. Eason was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School and was active on the local, district and conference levels.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Martha Lynn Eason. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Dorothy S. Eason of Charleston, a son, Herbert C. Eason III of Duluth, GA, a daughter, Nancy E. Jones of Holley, NY; two brothers, Rev. Robert Eason of South Dakota and Hugh Eason of Sullivan's Island; six grandchildren, Robert Littlejohn, Edward Jones, Amy Jones, Rebecca Jones, Ashley Eason and Matthew Eason and three great grandchildren. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert C. Eason, Jr. are invited to attend his funeral service at 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 28, 2007 at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 413 Geddes Ave. The family will receive friends on SUNDAY evening, October 28, 2007, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy, between the hours of 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Monday, October 29, 2007, at 12:00 O'clock Noon.
