Mrs. Fanning was born November 5, 1922 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Herbert C. Eason, Sr. and Ray Kitchings Eason. She graduated from The College of Charleston with a BA in Math. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by five sons: Wayne R. Fanning of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Reverend Buist M. Fanning, III, of Irving, TX; Jack E. Fanning of Charleston, SC; Gene E. Fanning of Charleston, SC; and Charles L. Fanning of Tampa, FL: two daughters: Janice Myra Fanning of Charleston, SC and Carol Fanning Jeter of Fairfax, VA: Twelve grandchildren: Six great grandchildren; three brothers: Hugh Kitchings Eason of Sullivan's Island, SC; Reverend Robert H. Eason of Vermillion, SD; and Herbert C. Eason, Jr. of Charleston, SC. She is predeceased in death by her son: Richard Henry Fanning; her daughter: Joyce Myra Fanning; her brother: David West Eason; and her sister: Adele Eason Kittles.
