David West Eason was named for his mother's aunt's 2nd husband David Titus West. His mother, Ray, lived with her aunt Ella after her parents died. After completing one year of school at the College of Charleston and with the on set of World War II, David enlisted as an Ensign in the United States Navy on July 1, 1943 at the University of South Carolina. His military serial number is 358727. He was honorably discharged from the Charleston Naval Station on September 16, 1946 at the rank of Lt. (jg) after serving in the Pacific theater during the war. After the war David continued his education and graduated from the College of Charleston. He then attended the Medical College of the State of South Carolina and graduated on June 1, 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He worked as a Pharmacist until his retirement.
