Mrs. Mike Kirn Dies
Passed Away In Topeka March 15 After Lingering Illness;
Funeral Services Held March 18 From St. Patricks Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Mike Kirn, who passed away March 15, 1950 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maurice Towle in Topeka, were held from the Osage City St. Patrick's church Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock. Father A.H. Weitharn of Paxico, assisted by Father Charles Brink, officated at the services. Burial was made in the Osage City cemetery.
The Rosary was recited Friday evening, March 17, at 8 o'clock at the Kirn home, 505 Lincoln street, in Osage City.
The pall bearers were Gilbert Evans, Albert Evans, George Evans, Bill Duggan, Ray McAntee and Duane McAntee.

Mary Frances, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Fagan, was born at Reading, Kansas, on December 10, 1885, having reached the age of 64 years, 3 months and 5 days.
She received her education in the Reading schools and was married to Mr. L.W. Brandon at Reading on March 7, 1905. After living in Reading for several years, the family moved to Michigan where a few years was spent in the hopes of benefitting Mrs. Brandon's health. They returned to Osage City in 1919.
To this union were born four children. Those surviving her are Mrs. J.G. (Mary) McAntee of Reading; Leo Brandon of Osage City and Mrs. Maurice (Frances) Towle of Topeka; 8 grandchildren, one girl and seven boys. One grandson, Charles Baughman, is serving with the U.S. Army in Japan. One daughter, Mrs. Charles (Catherine) Baughman and Mr. Brandon preceded her in death. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Gage of Chicago, and one brother, Frank Fagan of Reading, besides other relatives and a host of friends.

In 1929 Mrs. Kirn was united in marriage to Mr. Mike Kirn, and continued their residence in Osage City until Mrs. Kirn's health failed and they moved the first of November, last year, to Topeka to the home of Mrs. Kirn's daughter. However, she gradually grew worse and entered the hospital the 10th of December, returning to the home of her daughter the 31st of January, where she was tenderly cared for by her daughters and Mr. Kirn during the remaining weeks of her life.

She was a woman of kind and pleasing personality, a good wife and mother, and enjoying doing for others. She was an active member of the St. Patricks church in Osage City as long as her health would permit. Mrs. Kirn excelled in the art of sewing, which she enjoyed very much and did a great deal of sewing through the years.
