Helen A. Reed, 70, of Oneida, died on Monday. Funeral Services: 7 p.m. Friday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., Oneida. Interment: Saturday morning in Lenox Rural Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3 to 7 p.m. Friday prior to the funeral service.

Helen A. Reed, 70, Furnace Avenue, died Monday morning, Jan. 26, 2009, in Upstate University Hospital, where she had been a medical patient, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Cleveland on Feb. 15, 1938, she was the daughter of John and Pearl Shindler Darling Sr. A resident of Oneida for the past 53 years, Helen was educated in Central Square schools. She married William J. Reed in Great Bend, Pa. on March 31, 1957. Mr. Reed died on Feb. 18, 1997.
At the time of her death, Mrs. Reed was currently employed with the Oneida Molded Plastics Corporation. She was a member of the Oneida Baptist Church and the Ladies of the Owls, Oneida Nest 2210 and had a great loved for renovating and decorating her home and for gardening. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Susanne and Robert Templar of Rome and Linda and Rodney Fisk of Wampsville; three grandsons, Ryan R. Templar, Jason W. A. Fisk and Christopher G. J. Fisk; three sisters, Leta Campany of Oneida, Theresa Smith of Interlocken, Fla. and Geraldine Clark of Rome; two brothers, Norman Darling of Jacksonville, Fla. and Gerald Darling of St. Mary, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 14 siblings.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m., Friday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, 260 Main Street, Oneida, with Pastor Barbara Fisk officiating. Interment will be made Saturday morning in Lenox Rural Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 3-7 p.m., Friday, prior to the funeral service. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Oneida Relay for Life, c/o Karen Litwak, RN-NP, Suite 2, 603 Seneca Street, Oneida, NY 13421. Envelopes for this fund may be obtained at the funeral home.
