ONEIDA - Mildred L. Butler, 80, of 226 Farrier Ave., Towers II died on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 31, 2008, in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Utica, following an illness of several weeks.

She was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Cleveland, N.Y., a daughter of John and Pearl Shingler Darling.

She was united in marriage to George Butler in 1946. Mr. Butler died in 1985.

Mrs. Butler had been employed by the former Oneida Furniture Company for 28 years, retiring in 1997.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, George and Amy Butler of Oneida, Gerald Butler and his companion, Billene Hubbard of Sherrill and Timothy and Judy Butler of Oneida; two daughters, Linda Barlow and her companion, Fred Herringshaw of Oneida Castle and Suzanne Page of Oneida; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jack and Kim Darling of Florida and Gerald "Butch" Darling of Florida; four sisters, Helen Reed of Oneida, Leta Campany of Oneida, Theresa Smith of Florida and Geraldine Clark of Rome; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Ave., Oneida, with the Rev. Art Hubbard of the Lake Street Methodist Church, officiating. Spring interment will be made in the Glenwood Cemetery, Oneida
