Nancy was the 7th child and the 2nd daughter born to Edmund Hendley Richards Jr. [1806] VA/TN/IL and Maria Bush-Goode [1820] TN.

She grew up on the family farm in North Otter Township of Macoupin Co IL a few miles east of Palmyra.

At age 16 Nancy married George W. Headley on September 1 1870 at that place.

Their first son
1. Edmund H. [1871] died as an infant
2. Edward A. [1872] born in Waverly, IL

Nancy Jane passed early in life, at age 36.
