Martha Schmitt – Martha Schmitt, 67, a former Town of Rhine resident, died early Tuesday at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, where she had resided the past month.
She was born November 28, 1905 in the Town of Rhine, a daughter of the late Philip and Gustina Limberg Schmitt. She attended Harrison School in the district.
Survivors are four brothers, Peter, Phillip, and Alfred of rural Kiel, and Martin of Fond du Lac, and two grandsons.
A son Sergeant Frederick Schmitt, preceded her in death in February 1969. He lost his life in the Vietnam War.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, at 1:30 p.m. at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Reverend John F. Baumann, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel, will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Town of Schleswig.
