Jerome Christel, age 12, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isadore H. Christel, passed away at the home of his parents here, on Friday evening at eight o'clock, after an illness of 9 months' duration. The deceased was born in Valders, July 4, 1922, where he later attended the parochial school. The Christel family moved to Brillion later where
they resided for a number of years, Mr. Christel conducting a merchandise store there. On May 12, a year ago, the Christel family moved to Kiel, where they are also operating a merchandise store. Due to ill health, the young lad was unable to attend school here.
Jerome is survived by his parents, two sisters, nine brothers,and his aged grandfather, William F. Christel of Valders.

Funeral sevices were held on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from the family residence and at 9:30 o'clock services were held at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church. The Rev. Fr. J. J. Esdepsky officiated and burial was made in the Catholic cemetery near here.
Pallbearers were six brothers of Jerome, namely, Victor, Roman, Arnold, Lawrence, Eugene and John Christel. - 1934
