RAYMOND CHRISTEL

Raymond "Nipper" F. Christel, 77, of Fourth Street, Kiel, died Friday, Nov. 15, 1996 at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan.
He was born June 17, 1919 in Valders, son of the late Isadore and Ida Jaeger Christel. He was a 1937 graduate of Kiel High School. On Sept 2, 1941 he married Lucille Klauck at Holy Rosary Catholic church, New Holstein. He owned and operated Clover Farm Grocery Store in Kiel until 1963 and then was employed at Tecumseh Products Company, New Holstein, until his retirement.
He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, Kiel Fire Dept. and Ambulance Service for 35 years, Catholic Men's Society, Catholic Order of Foresters, Kiel Fish and Game and the Kiel Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, throwing horseshoes, golf and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Barbara (Fritz) Henschel of Plymouth, Mary Beth (Steve) Klemme rural Kiel and Rozanne (Mark) Graf of Millhome; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene (Ruth) Christel of Kiel and Roman Christel of Brothertown. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters and one grandson, Mark Henschel.
A funeral Mass was held at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church in Kiel with the Rev. Loren Nys SDS officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
