Spettel, Jacob (Aug. 30, 1821-May 10, 1886 –husband of Elizabeth Aulbach [married April 19, 1855 at St. Louis, Missouri] –son of Jacob Spettel and Catharine –born in Bavaria –applied for naturalization on Oct. 11, 1852 in New York City –from April 4, 1884 until his death in 1886, Jacob owned the 100-acre farm centered at 22109 Schreiber Road in Section 9, Town of Schleswig –after his death, this farm was sold to his son Edward on Aug. 29, 1890

–"Jacob Spettel was born and reared in Bavaria, Germany, and there he learned the shoemaker's trade. In his early manhood he emigrated to the United States, first locating at Herman, Sheboygan County, where he established a shop and followed his trade for nineteen years. During that period. he accumulated sufficient capital to enable him to buy a farm so he came to Manitowoc County and purchased some land in Schleswig township, and thereafter devoted his attention to agricultural pursuits.
