Henry M. Spettel, 85, of 910 3rd St., Kiel, died late Wednesday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital. His death followed a lingering illness. Born May 18, 1867, in the town of Herman, a son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Spettel, he was married to Amelia Schulz at Holy Name Church, Sheboygan, on July 24, 1894. The couple made their home in Sheboygan until 1904, when they moved to Kiel. Since his wife's death in 1949, Mrs. Spettel has resided with a daughter, Mrs. Carl Kanske at Kiel. Mr. Spettel was employed at the Kiel Woodenware Co. until his retirement in 1949. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of the parish. Survivors are: three daughters, Miss Verena of Milwaukee, Mrs. James (Anne) Gollash and Mrs. Carl (Anita) Kanske of Kiel; one grandchild; a sister, Miss Mary Spettel of Wilmette, Ill.; and two brothers, Jacob of the town of Eaton and John of the town of Schleswig. In addition to his wife, two daughters also preceded him in death.
