Gertrude "Gertie" P Broeckert, 86, formerly of 1035 4th St., Kiel, died Saturday afternoon, July 24, 1999 at the Calumet Homestead and Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, where she had been a resident since December of 1998.
The former Gertrude Jaschob, was born Jan. 27, 1913 in Kiel, a daughter of Carl Sr. and Ann Joschob Jaschob. She attended school in Kiel. On Feb. 9, 1963, she married Frederick Broeckert at St. Peter's UCC in Kiel. She was employed at the former Hansen Glove Factory in Kiel for a short time and also at the A.A. Laun Furniture Company in Kiel until her retirement. She was a member of St. Peter's UCC, Kiel where she taught Sunday school and the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharyn (Gerald) Meyer, rural Kiel; one son, Donald (Marilyn) Forbes, Kiel; two step-daughters, Yvonne (Roman) Woelfel and Emiliee (John) Adamavich, all of Sheboygan; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Jaschob, rural New Holstein; five sisters-in-law, Laura Jaschob, a resident of the Calumet Homestead; Marion Jaschob, New Holstein; Lorraine Schnell, a resident of Rocky Knoll; Elnore (Aurel) Helf, Sheboygan and Marie Jelacic, New Berlin.
