Alfred H. Pickering, age 87 of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. He was born October 21, 1921 to the late Willis A. Pickering and Hazel Turner Pickering.

He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a truck driver for ABF and was President for Teamsters Union Local #878 from 1974-1984 and retired from the Teamsters. He was a member of the Geyer Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife, June of Little Rock; daughters, Connie Huff and Terri Miller both of Little Rock; one brother, Lloyd Jackson Pickering and wife, Lucy of Woodbridge, Virginia; grandchildren, Bryan Huff and wife, Deena; Traci May and husband, Stan; Karen Huff, Amy Giacoletti, James Giacoletti and wife, Shannon; eight great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock 72209 (501) 455-5800 with Brother Paul Sanders and Pastor Jerry Riddle presiding. Burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Odyssey Health Care, 333 Executive Court, Suite 205, Little Rock, AR 72205.
