Wilbur Loveless was born October 1, 1896 in Wapello County, Iowa to George W. and Myrta Marie Potts Loveless. He was the second born to a family of eleven children. He grew up in Wapello County, Iowa, Yates Center, Nonchalanta, and Ness City Kansas. He came to Noble County, Oklahoma with his family in 1904.

Wilbur was a veteran of WWI. He registered June 6, 1918 and on August 2, he left for Camp Pike, Arkansas. He was never sent overseas, in fact every time he was sent to a new camp they thought he was too young to be in the service. His parents had to sign paper stating he was of age.

He married Elizabeth Chrz on February 23, 1927 in Perry, Oklahoma. They had a daughter, Myrta Loreene in 1927. They farmed around the Watkins area. He and Lizzie were divorced in 1933. In 1934 he married Reba Lee Dexter Trull and she passed away on March 24, 1951. Then Wilbur married Amy Hartung Cross on July 16, 1953.

Wilbur passed away on March 1, 1977 at Perry, Oklahoma. He was laid to rest at Grace Hill Cemetery. Wilbur was prceded in death by his parents; his second wife Reba Lee; two brothers, Harlie and Chester; four sisters, Elrean Golay, Vera Loveless, Della Loveless and Opal Chrz.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Loreene and Junior James; a granddaughter, Tonda; one brother, Cecil; three sisters, Launa Bass, Zella Aigner and Inabel Crandall; and numerous nieces and nephews and family members.
