Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Parker chapel for George W. Loveless, 91, 501 Jackson St., who died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday in the Perry Nursing Home. He had been in ill health for two months.
Earl Gibbs, pastor of the First Christian church, will officiate and burial will be in the Red Rock cemetery.
Loveless was a farmer and former rural mail carrier, who came to this county in 1915. He lived on a farm near Red Rock until 1943 when he retired and moved to Perry.
He was born Jan. 23, 1872, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He lived in Yates Center, Kansas, two years and Ness City, Kansas 13 years. It was while he lived at Ness City that he served as a mail carrier. He was a member of the Christian church.
He was married March 11, 1894, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Myrta Marie Potts, who died in 1925.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John (Zella) Aigner, Perry; Mrs. Jonas (Launa) Bass, Murphy, Idaho; and Mrs. Jack (Inabelle) Crandall, Wichita; two sons, Cecil and Wilbur Loveless, both of Perry; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; four daughters, Elrean, Opal, Vera and Della; and two sons, Harlie and Chester.
Bearers will be Forrest Severe, John Kemnitz, George Schinerling, Ernest Ruby, Delbert Garrett and Francis Snodgrass.
