Marysville - Roy M. Zimmer, age 84,of Marysville, died Saturday, May 10, 2003.
Roy was born in St. Clair on April 12, 1919 to the late John and Tersia Zimmer.
He married Mary Pung on June 24, 1939 in St. Clair. Mary died Jan. 19, 1996.
Roy worked for 30 years for Grand Trunk Railroad. He was a veteran of WWII; a member of the Knights of Columbus; the American Legion; the Moose; and St. Christopher's Catholic Church, Marysville.
Roy is survived by his daughters, Joyce M. Westbrook; his sons, Ron Zimmer, Donald J. (Denise) Zimmer and James Zimmer; his beloved friend, Betty Bond; his grandchildren, Kimberly Horn, Patrick and Gary Westbrook Ron Zimmer Jr. Donald Zimmer Jr. David and Alicia Zimmer, great-grandchildren, Tyler Horn, Jordan Westbrook,
Bret Zimmer, Charlie and Alex Zimmer.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; sons, Allen and David; sisters, Edna Zweng, Bertha Zweng, Grace Currier; and brother, Ed Zimmer.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the L. C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Christopher Catholic Church, until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. The Rev. Art Baranowski will officiate.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
