St. Clair - Grace I. Currier, 83, passed away Sunday, April 24, 1994, in Port Huron after a short illness.
She was born Nov. 14, 1910, in China Township to the late John and Theresa Zimmer and was a lifelong St Clair resident.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She was employed by the East China School District at St. Clair Middle School, retiring in 1976 with more than 20 years of service.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Lyle Kammer of China Township; daughter, Jacqueline Earl of St. Clair; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Susan Currier of Benicia, Calif.; grandsons, Keith Winn of St. Clair, Thomas Kammer of Kimball Township and John Winn of Colorado Springs, Colo.; granddaughters, Nancy Ellery of St. Clair Deborah Shadwick, Carol Laucht, Christine Garison and Denise Brown and step-grandchildren, Jennifer and David Riley, all of California; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Zweng of St. Clair Township; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Mary Zimmer of Marysville; sister-in-law Mabel Zimmer of Armada; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Milton and Edward Zimmer, and sister, Bertha Zweng.
A funeral Mass is 10 A.M. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic church with the Rev. Edward Ritter officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visiting is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Highway, China Township. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Building Fund.
