Samantha was given many acres which helped them and its presumed her father set them up in the hotel business.

Mrs. Semantha Hudson
Mrs. Semantha Hudson died of pneumonia at her home in New Centerville Sunday at 10:30 PM. Semantha M. Warner was born at Coldwater, Branch County, Michigan, June 17, 1839, and at the age of three years moved to Illinois with her parents, where they lived until 1854 when they immigrated to Wisconsin and settled in Pierce county, town of Martell. She was married to Josiah K. Hudson the same year and to them were born thirteen children of whom six are now living. They are Clarence E. who has always lived at home, Josiah K. of ellsworth, William J. Mrs Ellen McCartney, Mrs. Etta Babcock all of New Centerville and Mrs. Jake Vandenberg of Pleasant Valley. She is also survived by anumber of grandchildren. She was most tenderly cared for during her illness of less than a week. The funeral services were held Wednesday, May 1 at 2 pm at the M. E. Church at the place and remains were laid to rest in Mt. Olivet cemetery by those of her husband who passed before her about eighteen years ago. She was a kind and loving mother and neighbor and will leave a tender memory in the hearts of all those left behind.
