Marcella, age 89, passed away at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Marcella was born to Frank & Helen (Spahn) Acker. She married Lawrence Wagner at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ashton on Oct. 23, 1939. She and her husband farmed the Wagner family farm for 37 years. Marcella was well known for her beautiful quilts that she gave to many people as gifts and for always having homemade cookies on hand for those who came to visit.
She is survived by seven daughters and their spouses, two sons and their wives, a daughter-in-law, 46 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers, five sisters, and any nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence and a son Gerard, both in 1998; a son-in-law, Wayne Pankow in 2006; five brothers, Greg, Jerome, Edmund, Jerome, and Casper; a sister-in-law, Rose Acker; and seven brothers-in-law, Clem Hensen, Alfred Gillis, Billy Whitt, Raymond (Ruth) Wagner, Al (Sylvina) Wagner, Wilfred (Mary) Wagner and Richard (Eva) Wagner.
