Kenneth Dean Heckathorn, 91, Monticello Heath Care, formerly of Fulton, died at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 30, 2007 at White County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for three days. He was born on Sept. 30, 1916 in Fulton County to Henry and Cora Hartman Heckathorn. He moved to the Monticello Health Care in March of 2001, lived in Monon for two years prior to that, but had lived in Fulton for 50 years. He married Mary Jane Greenwald on Sept. 10, 1934 in Fulton. She preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 2001. Survivors include a daughter, Penny (Dave Scott) Yeakley-Scott, Monon; sons Freddie K. (Merlee) Heckathorn, Celina, Ohio and Jerry (Rhonda) D. Heckathorn, Rochester; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren; a great-grandson; three sisters, Alta Olmsted, Edna Pratt, Golda Briggs; two brothers, Kirch and Lester Heckathorn. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ross Terry officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
