Golda F. Briggs, June 8, 1900 - Nov. 6, 2000, Golda F. BABER BRIGGS, 100, 705 E. Fourth St., formerly of Macy, died Monday at Hickory Creek Health Care Center, Rochester. She [Golda F. HECKATHORN] was born to Henry and Cora HARTMEN HECKATHORN in Fulton County. She married Roscoe C. BABER on Nov. 9, 1919 in Fulton. He died Aug. 12, 1954. She then married Robert Hurd BRIGGS on Sept. 9, 1959. He died Nov. 4, 1988. She was a homemaker, a member of Macy Mother's Club, a 50-year member of the Macy Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Rochester. Survivors include two daughters, Imogene WILSON and husband Ed, Rochester; Betty Jo BENEDICT and husband DeWayne, Kokomo; two sons, Ron BABER, with wife Nila, Rochester; Richard BABER, with wife Mary LaVerne, Peru; on stepson, Richard BRIGGS and wife Joyce, Macy; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth HECKATHORN and wife Mary Jane, Monon; a sister-in-law, Gloria HECKATHORN, Nyona Lake; nieces and nephews. She was preceded by two grandsons, one great-grandson, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home in Rochester with Rev. Rick TAYLOR officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Macy. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before services Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or Mexico New Life United Methodist Church.
