ROLAND W. HARPT

Roland Harpt, 41, postmaster at Mishicot since 1931 and prominent
in Lutheran church circles in the village, died early this morning
at the Two Rivers Municipal Hospital following a lingering illness.
Since taken ill, his duties at the post office have been carried on
by Mrs. Haupt.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Peter's
Lutheran Church, the Rev. Edward Zell officiating. Burial will be
in the Mishicot cemetery.
Mr. Harpt was born on a Gibson farm in 1904, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Emil Harpt. After receiving his primary education in the schools of
Gibson and Mishicot, he entered the county normal school from which
was graduated in 1923. For six years, he taught rural schools in
Gibson and Saxonburg.
He married Miss Hildegarde Last of Two Rivers in 1929 and two years
later was successful in civil service examinations for the Mishicot
postmastership. He served as a trustee for the Lutheran congregation
in Mishicot for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, daughter and son of Mishicot (private);
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Harpt of Mishicot; three brothers, Omar
of this city, Reuben of Rockwood, Harvey of Gibson.
The body is at the Specht Funeral Home in Mishicot and may be viewed
from Saturday afternoon until removal to St. Peter's Church at 10:30
Monday morning where it will lie in state until the time of services.
