After a few years, Emma married Amalie Meyer's only sibling, Charles "Carl" Dinkler. Carl and Emma were wed on 02 Sep 1884 in Jerseyville, Jersey County, Illinois. He was a farmer in Calhoun County, Illinois, and they were the parents of 1 child.
Emma and her husband took over a large grocery and dry goods store run by Judge Meyer. Off and on through the years, Emma also served as Postmaster.
Emma died 4 days after her 77th birthday. Emma was survived by her daughter, Minnie Nairn; 2 grandsons and 5 granddaughters; 3 sisters, Louise Smith, Annie Kinder and Caroline Kinder; and 1 brother, Louis H. Meseke.
Emma was buried on 29 Aug 1944 and was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, who died in 1928.
