The son of Franz Wilhelm "Frank" Willenburg and Mary Alice Kinder, Henry lived with his family on their farm in Golden Eagle, Calhoun County, Illinois.

Henry drowned in a pond 11 days before his 12th birthday. He was survived by his mother and father.

Henry shares a stone with Dora, his only sibling who did not survive childhood. Her information is engraved on the opposite face of the marker.
