The daughter of Franz Wilhelm "Frank" Willenburg and Mary Alice Kinder, Dora lived on the family farm in Golden Eagle, Calhoun County, Illinois.

At the time of her death, Dora was exactly 6 months old. She was survived by her mother and father.

Dora shares a stone with Henry, her only sibling who did not survive childhood. He drowned in a pond in 1879 when he was almost 12. His name and dates are engraved on the opposite side of the marker.
