My Aunt Marlene : )

Born on the 11th of November 1936 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, Marlene LaVonne BROWN was the daughter of Roy Theodore Brown, Sr. 1904-1974 and his wife, Mary "Hazel" COFFMAN Brown 1904-1988. Marlene was one of 6 children.

Marlene's Dad - Roy and Mom - Hazel were the Parents of:
1 - Roy Theodore Brown, JR 1926-2014
2 - Alvin "Earl" Brown 1928-2018
3 - Dorothy Christiana Brown 1929–2007
4 - Ernest "Ernie" Leon Brown 1933–2005
5 - MARLENE LaVONNE BROWN 1936–2007
6 - Ronald Lee Brown 1942–living 2023

Marlene married the "love of her life" and secret crush - Duane Alden Widdifield on March 7, 1958 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Marlene and Duane were the parents of 4 children: Duane "Mark", Susan Marlene, Erik Michael, and Janice LaVonne Widdifield.

Marlene was deeply religious and put God first in EVERYTHING she did. She even became an ordained minister. She had a silly sense of humor and the most beautiful laugh - I can still hear her. I called her my Angel. Whenever I had anything to talk about or question her about what something means in the Bible, all I had to do is call Aunt Marlene and we would talk. She had such a calming, caring voice that it just made you feel better no matter what. Her favorite colors were green and yellow - her lucky number 7 which is very, very special in the Bible and in her life.

Marlene was a CHARTER Member of the Greenwood Branch, Mary Bryan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution which she joined with her Coffman ancestor. Marlene held quite a few titles and devoted much of her time to the DAR as well as being the Chaplain. She really enjoyed it.

A Special THANK YOU to my brother and Marlene's nephew, Ted Brown for furnishing the cemetery photos!! What an appropriate Heavenly Birthday present to add the photos on her 77th Birthday on November 11, 2011!!!

HAPPY 77 th B I R T H D A Y MARLENE!!!!!!!
