After her husband's death, Emma moved to Jerseyville, Jersey County, Illinois. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville.
At the time of her death at Jersey Community Hospital, Emma was 87 years, 2 months and 14 days old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond.
Emma was survived by her daughter, Ramona; 1 granddaughter, Sheri Lynn Hagen Gaffner; 2 grandsons, (Living) Hagen and (Living) Hagen; and 3 great-grandchildren.
There was no visitation. In accordance with Emma's wishes, the body was cremated. Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. on 01 Nov 1999 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Brussels, Calhoun County, Illinois. The ashes were buried next to her husband, Raymond.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville. Gubser Funeral Home of Jerseyville was in charge of arrangements.
