Albert Leonard WALL, was the 8th child of Peter Albert WALL and his wife Anna Margaret SANDBERG. He was probably born in his parent's farmhouse, in Apple Creek Twp., 138 North, Range 79 West, Burleigh Co., North Dakota, although the official records say he was born in Bismarck, Burleigh Co., North Dakota. When he was about 2 or 3 years old his parents moved from the farm near Bismarck, North Dakota to the homestead in what was called "the Big Wall", located about 17 miles northeast of Roundup, Montana.

He attended a small one-room schoolhouse, which was about 1 mile South of the homestead and finished the eighth grade. His teacher was named Mrs. Dela Fentress.

At an early age, he developed an interest in singing. At about age 19, he was invited to the home of Fred SABINS to sing with Mr. SABINS. Mr. SABINS had a high tenor voice. Albert was asked to practice with him and sing lead while Fred sang second. While visiting he met Mr. SABINS daughter, Genevieve Kathleen SABINS, who was sixteen at the time. They met later at several dances and in 1931 he asked Genevieve to marry him.

On 15 October 1932, he married Genevieve Kathleen SABINS. They were married in the Parsonage by Reverend Louis L. Ortmayer in Roundup, Musselshell Co., Montana. Witnesses at the wedding were Fred M. SABINS, her father, and Mrs. Louis L. Ortmayer.

He lived, with his new wife, on a ranch until they decided to move to the State of Washington. They loaded all of their belongings on a train and left Roundup, Montana on 2 March 1935. She traveled with her son Philip Albert and baby daughter Felicity Ruth. She also had traveling with her, Anna Margaret (Sandberg) WALL, her mother-in-law and Myrtle Elvera WALL, Albert's sister. They arrived in Olympia, Washington on 4 March 1935.

Albert WALL traveled separately by railroad car and brought 4 horses, a cow, 60 red hens, 2 cats and Tarzan, a shepherd dog. They arrived at a siding near Maytown, Washington where the animals were unloaded.

Albert, his wife, two children, mother-in-law, and sister stayed at the home of Leslie Ernest WILLIAMS and Alice Alida (WALL) WILLIAMS. Alice Alida was another of Albert's sisters. They stayed there while they looked for a permanent residence.

From 1 January 1936 untill 11 February 1937, they rented a small farm near Maytown, Thurston Co., Washington. This was called the Roseberg place, with was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Roseberg.

On the 11 February 1937, they bought 80 acres about two miles North East of Rainier, Thurston Co.; Washington described as the NW 1/4 of Section 14, Twp., 16 N., Range 1 East, Willamette Meridian.

He was an active member of the Rainier Union Chapel, in Rainier, Thurston Co. Washington, where he was a superintendent of the Sunday school.

He worked at several different jobs during his life. He worked at the Rock Query above Vail, Thurston Co., Washington as an assistant powder monkey. The query was a source for rock being hauled to some of the jetties being build out at the Pacific Ocean. He was a trackwalker for Weyerhaeuser Timber Company. He had his own logging business and did selective logging for many of the landowners in the Rainier and Yelm area. He worked at Wilcox's Farm near McKenna and Wrigglesworth's Farm near Rainier. He was a night watchman at General Cable Company in Yelm.
